In 2024 let's take time to make meaningful connections that strengthen and empower us individually and as a community. SingersResound is an online mentoring community for professional classical singers. We provide a safe place to discuss issues with a trained mentor in total privacy. The work of our mentors is given voluntarily; therefore a free service is available for all singers requiring support. SingersResound is committed to developing a programme to recalibrate when illness or life event has affected a professional singer's ability or confidence to perform.
The information we provide is intended to support you on your singing journey. It is not intended to replace care that is best provided by a qualified health professional and is not intended as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
SingersResound was instigated by the National Opera Studio and has been supported by the Vernon Ellis Foundation.
We are a peer to peer network for professional singers who perform on the opera and concert platform.
We try to catch you before you fall.
We are trained mentors who listen and help you move forward.
We connect you with a mentor who might have had a similar experience.
SingersResound aims to have a presence in hubs around the UK in the future. There will be hubs in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Glasgow, Belfast, Wrexham, Cardiff, Brighton, Bristol and in London.
We have been a team for over four years, exploring how we can help our colleagues in anyway we can. We understand the journey of a freelance singer and we are here to fill what we believe is a gap in support for our profession.
At present SingersResound is only offering online mentoring.
SingersResound has helped over 100 singers with free mentoring and workshops. British opera companies have embraced the need for our independent services, so please contact us if anything is troubling you. Conversations are completely confidential and our goal is to enable and empower, to facilitate mental growth and your ability to perform confidently or think differently. Our vision is to reignite a singer’s passion and creativity as well as the voice. We are willing to admit that individually we may not be the answer to a singer’s prayers, but know that someone in the team will be; and this team has an extraordinary rich and diverse level of experience and knowledge, which is ready to be tapped into.
Support comes in many guises and no singer can survive or thrive without it... What support do singers in transition, in difficulty, or in the middle to latter phases of their careers need? The SingersResound network is committed to providing this much-needed support.
Disaster is just around the corner for all freelance performers. SingersResound is here to spot problems early and offer sympathetic, confidential advice, helping singers back on the road to vocal health and a meaningful, fulfilling career.
This is a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space for you to chat about whatever might be concerning you and affecting your singing and/or your career. We will listen to you and accompany you on your path to well-being.
During the Covid pandemic, with artists sitting high on the government's 'retrain' list, we have all been made aware of our perceived value. Yet, we as artists often do not need such a glaring reminder, as at times, we fail to value our own great qualities and abilities. Often, this is through no fault of our own, but a result of the perfectionist environment in which we work. SingersResound is a space in which a singer feeling undervalued, can in confidence, talk with others, relate, or even re-evaluate their current situation.
SingersResound is a group of experienced singers who care and are committed to listening, encouraging, and helping singers who ask for help. A soloist's life can be a lonely path, especially when trouble strikes, and we have an abundance of knowledge and experience to assist singers at every stage of their careers.
My desire is to listen and facilitate a struggling artist to regroup and unravel any issues. SingersResound will always be a private and safe place to share anxieties, to allow time to be vulnerable but then build up confidence to be able to move on.
"SingersResound is the missing link for any singer with problems and obstacles to traverse. These are varied and a matter of perception." We are devastated by the passing of Keel Watson. He will be terribly missed by the SingersResound community, but his passion and his wise words will continue to resonate for us all.
